How to introduce yourself to a professor
How to talk to a professor about a grade
Send an email that has the following components:
Your name, class name/time, your TA (if you had one)
A concise explanation of what grade you received and why you think it is not representative of your work
An explanation of any conversation(s) you already had with your TA (if applicable)
Do NOT:
appeal because you simply want a higher grade. No offense, but you should have thought about that before completing assignments/exams.
appeal because your grade is close to another grade. For ex., if you earned a 92% and you want the professor to push it up to an A, that simply isn’t going to happen. You earned a 92%.
appeal to the professor before the TA (unless there is some serious external circumstance such as feeling unsafe)
